Computer crash!

December 2nd, 2007

Dear Friends,

We have experienced a bit of a train wreck in doing some upgrades with our computer! Our E-Mail system is in question and locked up! I wanted to get started with a real ‘hissie’ fit over the situation…then I realized that THIS is not a real problem! Are we in the hospital right now? No! Thank You Lord! We are watching and working on Sean a little to help him fully recover from this years earlier struggle…but we are at home doing it and have alot to be Thankful for! Please bear with us about this little ‘bump in the road’ and continue to pray for us! Thanks and God Bless!

Set aside for a time such as this…

November 17th, 2007

Dear Friends…

Well, I didn’t get to walk home with an award for Inspirational Country Music Album of the Year…but I won in a big way when I lost to Alan Jackson!!! And a really good man, incredible singer/songwriter and new friend of mine…Russ Murphy… took home the New Artist of the Year. I am also honored to be mentioned in the same category as him!

This years convention was fantastic! I met so many new friends there. God gave me so much favor with everyone! If you have not heard of the Christian Country Music Association, please take a look at their website and consider joining. Faith , Family, and Country is what their founded on. The Power Source magazine is an incredible publication that will keep you in touch with what’s going on with the artists/music ministries in this exciting and growing genre.

Let me share with you what God has done with us this past week…as you know, we plan on turning this whole effort into a non-profit organization so that we can then help other special needs families. Great idea…right? Well God has turned it into more than a great idea…it is now a burning passion with us!

Everytime that we have had to go into the hospital these last nine years with one of our kids…God has sent His people to provide for us! EVERYTIME! Our church family has shown us such an incredible example of Love and servitude. We have now been reminded of this and now are so driven to take this example and pay it forward. When a family has to take their child to the hospital…they need to see God’s love in action! It is such a testament when you show up with provision for a family in a situation where they can’t even think about work or paying the bills…

Any way…we are so excited to move forward with all that we can in order to turn this whole thing into such an important ministry. Still waiting on the final paper work and building permit…but believe me when I say that I know that God will reveal His perfect timing…

We had an awesome time in Texarkana with Becky Braun and Greg Gilbert at the Old Liberty Church this past Friday night. Thanks to all of the dear people that we met there. Please keep in prayer about a family that we met there who have an eight year old son diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. He has not done so well this past year or so…this is the very situation that we want to help with our non-profit organization…we could go in with an inspection of the home and with our own experiences and perhaps a testing for mold …perhaps help to identify if there is something in their home that is causing trouble. This family is in trouble…please lift them up…

Christa, Linda, Emily, Anna, Sadie, Hannah, Allie, and Kamryn ( FaithFive)…

We will never forget the incredible event that you put together for us down in Graham, Texas! The venue was incredible…( Memorial Auditorium ) FaithFive completely blew us all away with their sincerity and talent! If you are reading this…just know that God showed us a miracle in Graham this past weekend and He set aside an awesome group of people to help get it done. Thanks to the churches that invited me to sing and were such gracious hosts. Thank You to Jerry and Linda Kelley for all that you are…for all the care that you showed to our family…for the incredible plane ride in Mineral Wells, Texas!
( Thanks Linda for holding our girls while they were sleeping )

When my boys got off of the plane…I believe it was Sean that said…’ well…now I know what Texas looks like…”

What an awesome time we had on… really, my first big weekend… that was for all intents and purposes…the beginning of this music ministry. This ministry is simply God’s way of sending us out to begin the non-profit ministry. As different groups invite me out to sing and share our story, it gets us in the door for fund raising…which leads to the means for helping other special needs families…which leads to sharing the Gospel…( sometimes, we may have to use words )

The duet project is in the last stages of getting done…there are still a few artists that I am hoping to get on there…Tammy Cochran sang on ‘Loving You’ last week. She was incredible. The Bellamy Brothers and the Oak Ridge Boys have sent their parts back to us for mixing. Mary James is singing with me on a song called ‘Dancin’ Shoes’. Tommy Brandt is singing the title cut…’Try a Little Kindness’.  Branded is on an old Ricky Skaggs song…’If You Don’t Believe the Bible’. Randy Kohrs is singing and playing on a song called ‘The Great Commission’. This is a song that I sang on a project called Bible Tunes for my friend Ronnie Smith years ago. Hey…Ya’ll go find him at CrossPoint ministries in Utah. Maybe send a little support his way…

Mr Mike Hammock is singing with me on a song that my Aunt Mamie wrote…’I Owe My Life to the Lord’. Mr James Payne is singing ‘ Livin’ by the Book’ in a way that only Mr James Payne can… Melanie Walker is singing the old Dottie Rambo classic…’I just Came to Talk With You Lord’. Mike Rimmey so graciously spent his own money to fly down here and sing the second verse and Chorus on ‘The Light House’. Several of the artists on this project also participated at their own expense! Thank You! I am still hoping to have as many other Christian Country Artists on this as possible…I hope I get to…

Thank You to Vic Sumerall and Mike Sosin of Hand In Bridge Management who came with determination and investment money to get this project done! Thank you to Robert Jason, Jon Conley and Brad Vosburg. To Robert and Jon for vision, professionalism and just raw talent as producers…and to Brad of Fox Mountain Productions for an awesome recording studio and a real class act…as an engineer!
If you are reading this…please know that God has turned all of this into a way bigger thing than us! Please pray about partnering up with us to fund such an awesome and urgent mission once we get the non-profit organization set up. Also please consider partnering with us for our house to get built for our kids sakes…buy lots of CDs!…All of this is more than we can get done ourselves. I am still putting on a tool belt to do home repair and remodeling each day to make a paycheck. I am finding that harder and harder to do each week as this thing turns more and more into a juggernaut of an endeavor. I feel like the CEO of four corporations…just trying to move it all forward. God continues to make a way and to bring each new piece of the puzzle. Please pray and ask God if this is something that He would want you to support. Whether it be our kid’s special house…( which will be built ) or the non-profit organization to help other special needs families… or simply to be a part of helping to launch and support a new music ministry aimed at sharing our story of God’s grace in our lives. We want to see lives change the way ours has… ever since Jesus Christ came in! He told Peter…” If you love me…than feed my sheep”

You can help us to go out and feed His sheep.

We’ve been set aside for a time such as this!

God Bless!

Bigger than us!

October 20th, 2007

Dear Friends,

God is so good! This little project of ours has been really picking up steam lately. Go back and read some of the early blogs and see that some of the things that are happening now were part of what we were hoping to happen. Notably, that we would get as much attention to our cause as possible. I just got a look at the Bellamy Brother’s website…they have a picture and link to us. The Inspirational Country Music Awards show is coming Nov. 4th and they’ve asked me to be a presenter along with the nominations for Album of the Year and New Artist of the Year. Estella Pan of Star Country Media has sent out a major press release telling of her online charity auction to benefit our cause.  Last Wednesday, I made an appearance on ‘Bridges’ a show on channel 39…an affiliate of CTN here in Nashville. It was incredible! Monica Schmelter, the host, was absolutely riveting and gracious with her genuine concern to help us get the word out. Valerie James, the producer was so much help and encouragement. The camera crew prayed before we shot the segment of me singing. This show is the real deal! I have concerts in Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Florida in the month of November. God has really set us on a path here toward a ministry of helping other special needs families….the same way that we’ve received so much help! We got our final plat on Thursday of last week and now are waiting on what the city says about that. Thanks for checking in….please let me know if you would like to go to the ICM Awards show….I can get a discount on the tickets.

God Bless!

Waiting…

October 7th, 2007

Dear Friends,

Just thought I’d update this real quick…First of all, Thank You Lord…Sean is improving. We went to see the Doctors because Sean was coughing a lot. We were sure that we were in trouble again. They said that he has had a growth spurt and that his lung is no longer collapsed. The shaded area is still there on the x-ray of his right lung, but they said that perhaps the coughing means that he is clearing the stuff that he needs to from his right lung. He did have a very productive episode yesterday…( trying to not be too graphic ) and we were encouraged that indeed…maybe he is clearing.

I believe that getting the duct work changed out,  has made a marked difference. We have shut the air off again because of learning a few more things about having an over sized HVAC unit. Don’t do that! It is better to have an undersized unit! An over sized unit creates a high humidity in your home and therefore more chances of mold growth!

The city of Mt. Juliet told us that we have to have a final plat. Once I find out EXACTLY what that means…I will let you know. Sounds simple…but that is not what I am finding it to be. Please pray for us.

Thanks again to Hermitage Heat and Air! They changed out the duct work for us. They did so at a time when cash flow was down and I was not quite prepared to afford it…yet because of my kids, I couldn’t wait. They came and did the work any way… They have been very gracious.

Nov. 4th is the Inspirational Country Music Awards Show. To be held at Roy Acuff Theater here in Nashville. Please join us. Our little ‘rough hewn’, ‘all heart’ CD…
‘The Work of a Carpenter’ has been nominated in the top 5 for
Inspirational Country Music Album of the Year!

I am singing at the Gibson Cafe at Opry Mills Mall on Oct 31st for the ICM convention week showcases. After a days work hanging drywall or remodeling a bathroom, it is a real kick to get to go out and sing somewhere! I pray that you can see God at work in your life! The bible says that God is always at work! That it is Him at work in us… to both do and will for His good purpose. Amen!

Please pray for Jean Canida’s daughter Katie. She has a ruptured appendix and is very sick.

Thanks again for checking on us…I will continue to set goals for when we will start building. Obviously, I have been desperate to start for at least 6 months…I look forward to telling you how perfect God’s timing is…but right now, I am wishing that I were on the site building…ahouseformykids!

Day after Labor Day.

September 4th, 2007

We spent yesterday at Fred and Janet Corley’s Mt. Juliet Picnic.

If you’ve ever been to ‘Mayberry’ …than you know how great that this annual picnic is. The Corleys have done this for 15 years now…simply because they want to preserve the hometown tradition of neighbors getting together for fun and fellowship. Where everyone gets together and actually sits down together and visits with one another. There was a lot of great food…Volleyball began at 3 PM, with the winning team taking home some of Mr. Corley’s home grown blue ribbon Clover Honey!

Salute! to the Corleys for all of their time and effort putting this together each year. If you’re reading this…see you there next year! Everyone’s welcome!

We are really hoping to hear from the city this week about the building permit. In the mean time, I am out working, while Diane takes care in the feeding, treatments, schooling, feeding again, and general safety of the kids. She keeps trying to get around to the eating of ‘Bon-Bons’ and watching ‘Days of Our Lives’…but has not found the time in quite a while.

A little side note… I was at Home Depot and talking to Diane on the phone. She was here at home with the kids…Sean still had a PICC line in. ( the I.V. port that allowed us to administer antibiotics at home. The tube went into his arm, then up into an artery in his chest.)

Well as boys are inclined to do…Jeffrey and Sean got to wrestling and as I’m on the phone with Diane, she exclaims…Oh- …well we won’t go into that right now.

Sean comes to her with blood gushing out of the IV port. The boys knocked the end off of it in the midst of their play! ( light saber action )

In her panic, she hangs up! Then I said… Oh-    well we won’t go into that right now.
I call back and she tells me that she can’t talk to me right now because she has 911 on the other line…and she HANGS UP AGAIN!

I call the home phone and Jeffrey answers. …’Jeffrey, do NOT hang up!’ ‘Tell me what is going on’… ‘Well, Sean and I were in the bedroom, and Sean was Yoda and I was Count Duku, and’…. ‘Jeffrey!’ ‘Tell me what is wrong with Sean!’ ‘We accidentally were playing, and when Sean turned around, well Katie was in the way, Grace was on the bed and…’ ‘JEFFREY!’ ‘Tell me!’ ‘Sean is bleeding out of his PICC line!’

‘Jeffrey, get a pair of surgical gloves and an alcohol swab from the medical supplies, and take to Mom! Tell her to put pressure on the tube to stop the bleeding.’

‘Dad, here’s Mom.’

I start to say…’Honey, you have to…’

Diane says…’ I’m pinching the tube to stop the bleeding!’ ‘An ambulance is on the way!’

She hung up again…

On my way home at an UnGodly speed, I am trying to figure out how to communicate to my wife that I am the one to keep on the phone…I am Daddy for Pete’s sake!… Father, Husband,…cave man, hunter, gatherer. Don’t hang up! Tell me! God has given me special info. in these situations. Just as He has given Mommies special info. in other situations. No, I’m not this insecure, but man! this one was rough. Yes she did great! But I was in the dark and not doing so great!
I’m ‘da man! I should be in the know! Come to me…ask me…tell me! ( are there any of you ladies saying right about now…

‘oh sure, Me, Me, Me!’

Well let me tell you…as I was thinking all of this while plowing down the road ( I beat the ambulance home )…I get an elbow to the ribs…God says to me…‘Yeah, see what that’s like, see how it feels?’ How many times do you take off running to put out a fire when all you need to do is stop and ask Me?

It was quite a lesson in things. Yes, we have two legs of our own and are capable of thinking on our own, yet sometimes we don’t know what to do right away and instead of turning to Him, we go off on a tangent….perhaps part of our worship experience with God, is when we immediately stop and totally depend on Him! ‘Be still and know…that I AM God”
The worship part is for God only, but a little adoration from her to me is good!

I have failed too many times in the past at being the one who knows what to do, Diane is witness to that, but God’s lesson was there for me just the same.

Sean is fine, Diane is through laughing at my manic behavior and my blood pressure is back to normal, the ambulance got there and they didn’t have anything to clamp it with. Sean came up with the idea to use one of the clamps from one of the medicines that we administered that day. Way to go Sean! I guess no matter how old you are, if it comes down to bleeding to death or coming up with a brilliant, creative idea…

Still trying to sell CDs, call radio stations (and any other media that might help spread the word,) get Taxes and other documents together for the Construction Loan process, continue our research in the specifics of making this house as safe for our kids as possible, and make sure that we are enjoying this ride with our kids. It is so easy to spend a few days or more working so hard in this cause for our kids…and then realize that we haven’t spent the time the right way with our kids.

Thanks again for checking on us! Oh, by the way, I have new songs recorded and looking forward to sharing them with you. Busy right now doing the vocals and getting the various other artists vocal parts done. This will be a duet record that some really great talent has agreed to be a part of to help us get this house done. Hoping to make this product as special as ‘The Work of a Carpenter’ is. These friends who are singing with me…I believe will help a great deal!
Stay Tuned!

Another step forward…

August 19th, 2007

Here we are…approximately 2 years since the Doctors first told us that Jeffrey was in trouble with the mold Aspergillus. They said some scary things and we prayed…hard!

Got inspired…went looking through old songs that I had written…recorded the CD…set up the web site…danced a little dance with a TV show about building a house…talked with some guys about a piece of property to build on…heard from so many dear people about buying a CD and how God had touched their lives with the songs…jumped through a bunch of hoops about the property in hopes that a certain TV show would indeed arrive for a makeover…got the call that they would not be arriving…got the property in our name…cleared the property…got a survey…got the site plan…engineered footer plan…got set up with Owner/Builder Network to help us build…all of this in the midst of moving, working, and a dozen or so hospital stays. When all of this is done, we’re going on a vacation!
On Friday, we took the site plan and the engineered footer plan to the city to submit it for a building permit. As soon as we get the approval on that…we then go through the approval process for the construction loan. The CD sales have been a miracle that has gotten us to this point, but we are still looking at needing a construction loan to get it done.

Let’s say that the building permit gets approved in the next 2 weeks…
( the city official that is presiding over such things, is on vacation all this next week! ) and then the loan approval takes 30 to 45 days, that puts us the first week or two of October to begin building. I’ve been pushing in every way that I can for 6 months now to begin building. But am reminded daily that it is all in God’s timing.

Please…if you know of any one needing Civil Site work done….Civil Resource Consultants in Nashville, Tn. have been an answer to many prayers. Gary Emerson and David Abbey are ‘Get it done’ kind of people! Please help me spread the word about this awesome organization! Need structural engineering work done? David Cartwright in Mt. Juliet, Tn. is also someone that we could not Thank enough! There are so many people that God has sent our way to help us, that we are working on a way to say Thanks to all of them.

We have turned the A/C off at our house because of the duct work issue that I wrote about in an earlier blog. Waiting on the HVAC man to come and replace the main trunk line. My good friends at a local Home Depot helped us out with a portable A/C unit to put in one of the bed rooms.

Jeffrey turned 9 years old on Friday! The most intense, Joyous, tear filled, hardest working, most rewarding, most miraculous 9 years that Diane and I have ever spent on this planet earth! We don’t bother to remember what life was like before God sent these precious miracles into our lives! Thank You Lord!

The Christian Country Music Association is an awesome organization started by Gene and Brenda Higgins over 12 years ago. My first convention was last November and I met an incredible group of people there. They simply want to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ through Faith based Country Music. I plugged in and released a song from the CD to Christian Country radio in order to spur more sales. ‘What the Lord Gave me to do’ went to #4 on the CC chart in Powersource Magazine and #2 on the Christian Music Weekly chart. Is that incredible?

Well, now they have released the results for the top 10 finalists for The Inspirational Country Music Awards to be aired Live on the Gospel Music Channel Nov. 4th. from Nashville’s Roy Acuff Theater out at Opryland.

Among a few other nominations, our CD ‘The Work of a Carpenter’ has been nominated as
Best New Inspirational Country Music Album of the Year! Some of the other nominees in this category include Alabama and Alan Jackson! This is surely witness to the fact that this little ‘Carpenter’ project is a ‘God Thing’! The work of THE Carpenter!

Please take a look at the prospect of joining the CCMA. We are hoping that this relatively young genre will continue to grow!

Thank You again for checking on us here! It is a real blessing when one of you tells us that you’ve been keeping up with us through this site.

Until next time…May God Richly Bless you and yours! Don’t hesitate to call! 615 668-3908 Also, I am aggressively working on getting more bookings to go out to sing and share our story. If you know of any thing, we would appreciate any new leads.
gregmcdougal@ahouseformykids.com

P.S. Please pray for Mike Chamber’s family. They are going through several struggles right now with cancer and other things. Just lift them up!

Please Pray for Sean

August 7th, 2007

Dear Friends,

If you’ve been keeping up with us through this blog, than you know that Sean has had quite a bit of trouble with his right lung. What can happen is that a bacteria can get in and colonize within the thick, sticky mucus that is typical with Cystic Fibrosis. The place on the X-Ray that I had mentioned earlier that we were concerned about, might be giving us more reason to be concerned. We all caught the croopy cough thing this past week…but Sean started not doing well. So we took him to the CF clinic yesterday and they admitted him to administer IV antibiotics. Last night Diane called to say that He had spiked a fever of 102. This is what happened last time that caused him to have surgery. After surgery, they said that if this happens again, then we should look at removal of that section of lung so that it doesn’t generate any more infection. We are hoping and praying that we’re not headed in that direction. So please if you will put the word out to ask people to pray for Sean. That God will take away the infection.

In the mean time, I picked up the site plan yesterday from the engineers. When we get the engineered footer plan ( from a different kind of engineer) then we take that to the city and hopefully get approved for a building permit. Then we get approved for construction loan and then we start building!

I put out a bulletin last night on MySpace saying that we have come to a crucial time with the project. I asked everyone to renew their efforts in spreading the word about helping us to sell more CDs. There is a culvert to build, a building permit to pay for, gravel to buy and utilities to dig a trench for and run up to the building site. All of this will come out of CD sales money, before we get the construction loan. Thank You all so much. Please forgive my boldness. There is no other way I can do this right now.

Thank You for your prayers and for keeping up with us.

God Bless!

Progress?…

July 14th, 2007

Thank You Lord!

Sean apparently is not leaking air out of his right lung anymore and so the displaced air has begun absorbing back into his body Therefore, his right lung is gaining more room to inflate.

Still concerned about a place that shows up on the X-Ray…but hopeful that once his lung is inflated to 100% that he will be better able to deal with it. And that God will just heal it!

Sean looks good… we are sooo glad!

We’ve been told that the culvert that we have to build across the ravine, is something that we have to dance with the state about. Not sure what that means except more time and hoops to jump through. Hoping it turns out to be simple and not as expensive as it threatens to be.

Had a good man from Hermitage Heat and Air look at the duct work on the existing house…and he gave some incredible insight as to what might be giving us such a struggle as of late.

First let me clarify…this house and the previous house we were in, are places that plenty of other families have lived in without the kinds of problems we have had. Cystic Fibrosis is the reason for our struggle. I want to say that both of the owners of these two places are good people and have done more than what would be reasonably expected of them to make things right.

We need to re-build the duct work for the return vent on this system. Insulated fiber board was used and is still commonly used for this application…but it is no good for us! Also, the unit is too much unit for this house which lends itself to generating more condensation in the housing therefore causing more of a possibility for mold.

Who’da thunk?

We will hopefully have him correct the situation with the duct work in the next 3 weeks.

Will have to install a special light in the housing that will kill any mold as the air passes through.

We will be here for the foreseeable future and we have to make it healthy here and any where we go. We’ve been asked about moving to another house, another state…

Wherever we go has to be dealt with… with our special needs in mind. That is why I need to build a special house from the ground up.

Thanks again for checking in on us. Let us know you were here.

In case you’re wondering…

July 6th, 2007

Dear Friends,

It really is a special thing to us that you are here checking in on us…Thank You!

We were told last week that Sean has more air in the space between his lung and the lining. This is causing his right lung to be a bit collapsed. The CF doctors have expressed concern about a specific spot that is still showing up on the X-Rays. They have talked about removing that section…but then the surgeon looked at him and talked about how Sean is running around like a 7 year old and seems to feel OK…and so the surgeon wants to simply remove the displaced air and see how Sean does with his Lung fully inflated…

We thought that we would be going back in last Friday but never got the call…and so on and so on…we finally heard from them and we will go in on Monday for them to look at Sean again. Glad to not be in the hospital all week but we were a little concerned that what if Sean needed to be in…anyway, that is where we are…just trying to be who we’re supposed to be.

Who is that by the way? Has a whole lot more to do with reading my bible daily, seeking Him daily, having my heart turned toward Him a lot more than I’m naturally inclined to do…daily. I am amazed at how easily I can be distracted and lose focus.
My wife and children PROSPER when I am in closer fellowship with God. Tires last a little longer, checkbook holds up a little stronger, I have real conversations with my family as opposed to daily logistical chatter. Know what I’m talking about?

We have been watching TV a whole lot more here lately…and here recently I’ve been reminded that most of what I see in movies and TV shows…well…is there simply an absence of God or reverence to Him?. It is rare to see someone on TV or in the movies stop in the morning and open their bible. Hardly ever do I see a father stop to hit his knees to pray when he’s in trouble. I have found that on my knees is the first place I go in time of trouble and triumph. Don’t let me be a hypocrite…I can be shameless in my desire and exercise thereof to ‘veg’ out in front of the boob tube. But I have concerns about the model that I exhibit for my children? There is a lot of life shown in at least a thousand different ways.  Am I at least showing them enough of the daily reality of a Godly man? Do my actions balance out the romantic version of things they see on TV? Ten years from now, which set of values will I have instilled?
Am I too hard on myself? You betcha! The stakes are higher than high. I only have so long to do the best I can with these precious gifts that God has given me. None of us know how long we truly have with them.

I write all of this without pointing a finger in any other direction except back at myself. Am I saying that watching TV is a sin? Certainly not…but when God is speaking to ME about something…am I listening? Obeying?
It is obviously an issue at my house…or God wouldn’t be dealing with me about it. I only pass it along because I believe that is what I’m supposed to do. Hopefully will encourage someone.

We are hopefully meeting with the city on Tuesday and checking to see that we are headed in the right direction. Need to check with them that we will be able to get a building permit for what we plan to do. We have to build a driveway and a culvert to drive across the ravine. Didn’t plan on that financially…but here we go.

Once we get the OK…then our engineer Gary Emerson will spell out a building site that we will carry over to Owner Builder Network to get started with the construction loan process. CD sales money has gotten us to this point…lots of hoops to jump through that takes a lot of time.

We hope to start digging soon…best by Sept. 1st…pray for us! Thank You All!

Oh Yeah, I have started recording another project that I hope will become a much higher profile…I believe it will be…because some of the most successful artists in the Christian Country genre have agreed to sing on the project with me. All of your favorite Christian Country artists in one place. ( and I get to sing on it too) And then there are The Oak Ridge Boys! One of the most successful groups in Country music of all time. It is a miracle, but they have also agreed to sing on this project with me.

If you are reading this, please E-mail me and let me know if you are interested in owning a copy of this next project. I am furiously working on it, I have some very dear people helping me. I am hoping that it will sell a lot of copies in a short period of time in order to get this house done. Then to help launch this all into the non-profit organization that we hope to start in order to help the other special needs families that we meet at the hospital and through this web site.

I didn’t mean to rattle on, but there is a lot going on…too many balls in the air. Only God can get it all done. Amazing that He has chosen us to participate.

We hope to stay out of the hospital for a while now, but we know of one more visit that we’ll have to make. Just makes all of this more urgent than ever. The responsibility is overwhelming at times…I pray that I am doing the right thing with every step I take. Will you please pray with me in that? God Bless you all!

Yes! We Are Coming Home!

June 4th, 2007

Dear Friends,

It is Monday, June 4th…

We are waiting for the Doctors to issue us our walking papers. Sean looks and sounds like a different child then he did just 5 days ago. We’ve been told that He will still be clearing out the pneumonia for up to 2 months…

Thank you to everyone for your prayers, for the meals, for the babysitting, for the phone calls and e-mail, for the lawn service, for the cash donations to help while we were in the hospital. Thanks to our dear friend Lyn Everitt for coming over numerous times to clean our house and do all the laundry.

It’s been a long 40 something days since we first had to go in…we are so glad to be coming home. We hope that progress will really pick up now on the house.

Thank you all! God Bless!
